The Leisure Services Department promotes healthy lifestyles through the development of quality parks, facilities, recreation and cultural opportunities for the year round use of our citizens. It is the Department’s mission to provide and  promote parks, open spaces and leisure programming that will enhance active living and the well being of individuals and our community.

Cranbrook offers 28 citywide parks encompassing approximately 160.5 ha (401.5 acres), three indoor arenas, two outdoor rink facilities, a disc golf course, an extensive trail system, and numerous outdoor sports venues.  The city also has a major multi-purpose facility with an Aquatic Centre, NHL size ice surface, squash court, restaurant and meeting rooms.

Some park amenities include tennis courts, an amphitheatre, barbecue pits, slo-pitch and baseball diamonds, soccer fields, horseshoe and bocce pits, picnic facilities, playground equipment, wading pools and a spray park.
