Cranbrook, BC (June 15, 2017) – BC Transit services in Cranbrook will not be in operation Saturday morning due to the annual Sam Steele Days parade, which runs from 10am to 12pm through the downtown.
The temporary system shutdown is required due to the construction work on 2nd Street South and the changes to the Sam Steele Days parade route. BC Transit service will resume immediately following the parade with bus service being free for the rest of the day Saturday.
Additionally, BC Transit Route #5 will be rerouted slightly over the weekend, as 17th Avenue between 1st Street South and 2nd Street North will be closed, beside Balment Park and Western Financial Place for the Sam Steele Days central fairgrounds. Riders can access Route #5 transit by using the stop at the corner of 2nd Street North and 17th Avenue North.
All transit routes will resume their normal operation on Monday June 19.
The City of Cranbrook apologies for any inconvenience these changes may cause.
